A sunny day!!!!

When you live in Ireland you get used to the rain (sort of). So on a day like today, when it's sunny ALL DAY then it's impossible not to be outside. It was sunny and warm and by 4 o'clock we were outside having a snack and I was in flip flops and a t-shirt. It does, however, cool down awful quickly so they didn't last long.  I'm doing a photo blog of our afternoon, enjoy!

Her first proper trip in her new Wellies!

Standing with Daddy in the yard. All 3 of us have on our Wellies for a trip across the field up to Great Grannies instead of using the lane. Only have to hop 2 fences.

The view of the field we're crossing. The tree line covers the ring fort.

More scenic views. This is looking towards Maghera.

This is one side of the ring fort. It's one of the biggest in Northern Ireland. No archaeology has been done on it to estimate the age. All that is left is the flat avenue around the ring and the mound of soil that make up the walls. At it's peak it would have had a mot-and-bailey wooden structure as well as higher walls made out of logs.

Daffodils are out in full bloom. They are so many on the fort.

Looking down from the top of the fort.

O picking flowers.

O smelling the flowers

This is looking into the middle of the fort. Straight in front is what would have been the entrance. If the house wasn't there and the trees, you would be able to see for miles and miles.

This is a bell from the 16th century. Great Grandad has painted it so it doesn't look that old. But it was used to call the townspeople together when there were trouble.

This is the Greats dog Jack. He's a Border Collie and very very smart. Also play football really well.

After our walk we had our afternoon snack of milk and cheerios on the patio.

Then we colored. It was a wonderful. O ended up going to bed early.
